Year 9

Examination Block

Yr 9 will be undertaking their Yearly Examinations during Week 4 next week. The timetable can be found on Redlands Pulse. Aside from revision and examination preparation during our Pastoral Program this week, students have been given the following messages:

  • Yr 9 will be present for all morning examinations and will need to arrive at school by 8.15am for roll marking.
  • All examinations will occur on Level 2 of the H block. (COVID ‘best practice’ will be in place ie. spacing between desks, hand sanitiser etc)
  • If students do not have an exam during Periods 3 and 4, or 5 and 6 they may leave to go home.
  • If students have morning exams, afternoon exams but not exams during Periods 3 and 4 they must stay at school.
  • There will be no Tutor periods except for Thursday where students will attend school for the entire day due to afternoon Sport.
  • Students are to bring into their exam room a clear pencil case or clear plastic sleeve with all materials required for completing an examination (pens, pencils, eraser, highlighter, maths equipment etc) and revision materials along with laptops fully charged (if their laptop contains study material. Laptops are not to be used during the exam.)
  • No headphones are to be bought to the exam rooms or used during study sessions.

Sport During Examinations

All Yr 9 students are expected to attend their sports training throughout the examination week. Managing their personal wellbeing is important during this period, which includes making time for physical exercise and other activities that allow time away from exams and study.

Exam Preparation: Writing Skills

Next week, writing skills will play an important role for our students as they undertake their Yearly Examinations. Here are some writing strategies from the Study Skills Handbooks which will assist with exam writing and essay writing.

Best of luck to all of Year 9 in their Yearly Exams next week!
