Year 9

Altitude Day

On Tuesday 5 June, some of our Yr 9 students attended the yLEAD Leadership Day at The Concourse, Chatswood. The aim of yLEAD Leadership Day was to allow students to become re-inspired, unlock their potential and to make a difference in the world as a leader. Many of the activities on the day involved the Redlands students networking with students from schools across NSW. This encouraged students to move outside their comfort zone by asking questions to get to know one another, as well as inspiring each other through shared interests and goal setting. Students were also privileged to hear a number of key speakers including Rowie McEvoy, Maria Tran and Ben Pettingill. Grateful thanks to Mr Nick Walker and Ms Elizabeth Keogh for taking students to this important leadership event.

ISA Cross Country

A number of our Yr 9 Students participated in the ISA Cross Country Carnival last Wednesday. Students attended the Carnival accompanied by Mr Nick Walker (Assistant Year Advisor and Head Coach of Track and Field). Emma Mahon won her race comfortably, followed by Olivia Donoghue in 3^rd place. Rachel Kinghorn finished in 11^th position which placed her as first reserve for CIS, closely followed by Annabelle Swan. Jonah Koppers finished in 4^th place and Alex Holtheuer opted to run up an age group without complaint, despite having to run a further 2km. Max Currie was also a keen competitor on the day. Congratulations to these students. It is a significant achievement to run at this level and all students performed admirably on the day.

Gala Arts

The much anticipated Gala Arts evening was held at The Concourse last Friday night. Again, the evening proved to be a great success. Congratulations to all of our Yr 9 students who participated in this thoroughly engaging and dynamic showcase.

Arnhem Land
