School Photographs
School photographs have arrived and have been distributed through Wk 3 and 4. If you ordered photos and they haven’t arrived home, please check school bags and lockers. If you missed the chance to order school photos, there is still a chance to place an order, students just need to visit the YA office and collect their personal order information.
Return to On-Campus Learning
It was fantastic to see Yr 9 back on campus last week. On return to campus days, we will continue to emphasise to Yr 9 the need to implement good hygiene practices, including:
- wash hands frequently with soap and water before and after eating and after going to the toilet;
- cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze;
- avoid touching your face;
- limit physical contact when greeting people;
- limit physical contact in the playground;
- staggered break times to avoid classes mixing.
Uniform
Students are expected to wear their Winter uniform for On-Campus Learning days and were looking very smart last week. However, some uniforms are needing an update, particularly the length of the girls skirt which should fall to the knee and length of boys hair. Thank you for your assistance with addressing issues for the start of Week 5. Uniform requirements are available in the Student Planner.
Redlands Gives Thanks
As a Year Group, our students will be contributing to thanking the essential workers in our community as a Pastoral effort from Yrs 7-12. Yr 9 will be sending letters to our local food services, including our nearest grocery stores. We have an eager group of students helping to organise this effort and appreciate all of their support and enthusiasm in writing these very important messages.
Careers Week
This week is Careers Week at Redlands. Yr 9 participated in a special Careers Quiz on Thursday and they are all invited to participate in the Great Debate taking place at lunchtime Friday. Registration for this event is open to all students through the Library iLearn page.
Virtual Study Skills Seminar – Prue Salter
If you were lucky enough to attend the Study Skills evening back when students were in Yr 7, you would appreciate the wealth of valuable insights, tips and hints presenter and study skills expert Dr Prue Satler has to offer. Redlands has arranged parent access to a virtual Study Skills Seminar until 1 June.
Given the increase in student autonomy with their learning management, this is the perfect time to revisit and refine developed skills.
Ideally it is best that you watch these videos together with your child, just like you did when you attended the evening in person. The Study Skills Seminar has been broken down into bite sized chunks so if you do not have time to watch it all in one go, you can work through the session at your own pace. You can also go back and watch any of the videos prior to 1 June. The video page will prompt you to download the workbooks for the session and will show you at the end where you can then access all the slides from the session that are shown in the video. The link to access the evening is here (Username: redlands | Password: 68results).
