Year 9

Interesting Article of the Week

Please read

This week, our Yr 9 students completed the NAPLAN tests and I would like to congratulate all students on their conduct and approach in undertaking these national tests. I have been supervising the running of NAPLAN this week which has enabled me to read and (mentally) attempt the test papers. Having a Yr 9 son myself, it has made for topical discussions around the dinner table. I have included an article that provides some information about NAPLAN for anyone who is interested to know more about it.

YLead

Yr 9 students have been given an amazing opportunity to attend a leadership day called Altitude Day, run by the organisation YLead. This organisation provides ‘unique learning experiences that empower young people to be their best and make a positive difference’. Details of this event are on this link and information for the students on how to apply is on their Pastoral Care iLearn page.

Pastoral Care Program

This week students are continuing to understand how to listen to others more effectively.

Social Awareness Program

Students are continuing to research, discuss and understand the different layers of inequality in Indigenous communities within Australia.
