Year 9
Student Achievements
Theo Mirrlees-Black and Harrison Winton have been invited to the Sydney University Gifted and Talented Discovery Program in recognition of their outstanding result on their qualifying examination, placing them in the top 5% of the over 1500 Yrs 8 and 9 students who sat the examination across Australia. We warmly congratulate Theo and Harrison for this excellent result and honour.
We commend Toby Griffiths for his participation at CIS. Toby represented Redlands in Diving last Thursday at the Secondary Diving Competition at Homebush.
George Murphy recently competed in the Teine Youth Moguls U18 (duals) and the Niseko Superbumps A Class Open and placed third in both of these competitions. These were particularly impressive results as George competed against much older skiers in these events.
Farewell
We bid farewell to Maya Mendoza as she departs Redlands. The Mendoza family are moving to Guam and we wish them well with their relocation.
Yr 9 Curriculum Camp
Our Yr 9 Curriculum Camp to Wee Jasper (near Yass, NSW) is fast approaching in Term 2, Week 2, from 7 – 11 May. Please be aware that buses will depart and return to the Junior Campus at Allister Street. I thank all parents and caregivers who have filled in the requisite medical forms and returned them promptly. Please may I suggest that students strictly adhere to the gear list and bring all items as stipulated. The gear list has been generated by our external provider Outdoor Education Group (OEG) and has been put together by a professional team with much experience and understanding of the area. No mobile phones or digital devices may be brought to the Camp. Students may however bring a digital camera, this is optional. Thank you for your support to ensure a fantastic outdoor experience for our Yr 9 students.
