Year 9
Year 9 Camp to Myall Lakes
Last week, Year 9 embarked on their camp to Myall Lakes. The week was a huge success and students have come back this week with new friends, new skills and many stories to share about their adventures.
The weather proved to be somewhat exciting, including some intense heat and a lightning storm. It was impressive to see the students approach these challenges with a sense of humour and optimism.
Some of the highlights for the week included watching the sunrise over Mungo Beach, setting up an improvised sailing boat to cruise along the lake, coordinating games of paddle cricket and learning to play Mafia with new friends.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this a great week. It was a wonderful way to consolidate on the excellent year that Year 9 has had so far.
Schools for Impact Excursion
Next Thursday, Year 9 students will attend an excursion to Sydney University as part of the Schools for Impact program, where they’ll hear from four selected charities.
Please encourage your child to complete their ‘mini-job’ over the coming days and contribute the funds raised to the Raisely page. After hearing directly from the charities next week, students will be able to make educated decisions about how to allocate these funds based on which charity resonates with them most.
This experience offers a valuable opportunity for students to learn about challenges faced within the local Sydney community and to connect with social enterprises, which may open doors for future involvement in CAS or the Duke of Edinburgh program.
Thank you again for your support!
