Year 9

Yr 9 Term 3 Modified Assessment Calendar

This was sent by email to all parents and carers and shared with students via iLearn this week.  It was also discussed at the Yr 9 Meeting this week on Wednesday and will be housed in the Yr 9 Pastoral iLearn page for students moving forward.

Weekly Remote Learning Schedule

This is shared via Ms Gemma Van de Peer to parents each week and sent to students via a Global Announcement in iLearn each Monday.  Students are expected to check this schedule each week to ensure they are aware of the Zoom-free periods.  Next week, time will be allocated on Wednesday for parents, students and Tutors to have a Connection Check-in.  More information and the sign-up process will be shared via Ms Van de Peer.

Secondary School Photographs

The Redlands Standard Photo Packages will be posted to your primary contact address early next week by the photographers at Melba Studios. Included in the package will be details for ordering Sport and Cocurricular activity photos from Melba Studios.

If you have any questions or additional orders, please contact Melba Studios directly on (02) 9438 4566 or email sales@melbastudios.com.au.

Sleep is your Superpower!

It’s simple, really: your body and mind need sleep in order to function properly. But actually, getting a good night’s sleep isn’t always so simple, especially with our new lockdown routines. Luckily, Lara Luitingh from our counselling team has got some information, tips and hints in a useful video on things our young people can do to make it easier to get enough Zs.

Attendance and Routine

Students are expected to attend all Zoom lessons. If a student is unable to attend any class, please promptly provide an explanation via email to ssabsence@redlands.nsw.edu.au. As Remote Learning continues, we’re learning the value and importance of structure and routine in maintaining engagement in learning. Mornings are key to setting a good routine for the day. If your child is finding it more challenging to get up in the morning, help them find something to look forward to in the morning, whether that is a cup of tea, a bike ride or a refreshing shower. Sticking to a routine will help them feel more productive and fulfilled throughout the day and make sleep easier in the evening.
