NAPLAN
Students are commended this week for approaching the NAPLAN Examinations with a positive and focused mindset. Several students left the Writing Exam on Tuesday discussing the creative stories they had written and proud of their abilities.
Dodgeball Competition
Every other Wednesday when students have a chance to bring their ideas for service and leadership forward, Alex Tanner decided to share her idea for organising a Dodgeball Competition. As details were being coordinated, students thought it would work well to run this competition during NAPLAN week to allow for some energy to be released prior to testing. With the help of Luke Barwise, Joseph Hooper and Liam McFarlane, the competition has been running this week extremely successfully. The finals take place this Thursday and the winning Tutor Group will receive a pizza party to commemorate the experience. When Tutor Groups were not competing, another group of students contributed to a collection of wellness activities for classes to choose from to help balance the demands on this big week. These are further extraordinary examples of student voice and student-led initiatives that came together with a proactive and enthusiastic group of students wanting to help build further cohesion and spirit across the cohort. Thank you to all students who contributed to the events this week and for all students across the cohort for their enthusiasm in participation.
