Secondary School Individual Portraits and Sibling Photos

Friday 5 March

On Friday 5 March, Secondary School sibling photos will take place from 7.15-8.20am in Redlands Hall. If you would like to order sibling photos, please click here, enter the password ‘ALLISTER’ and select Siblings Order Form before 26 February.

During the day, Yrs 7-12 Year Advisors will accompany their Year Groups to Redlands Hall for portrait photos. If your child is unable to have their portrait taken on 5 March, catch-up photos will be offered on 16 June at school or by appointment with Melba Studios, located in Artarmon.

All students are required to be wearing their full school uniform, including blazers. Boys must be clean-shaven with hair that has been cut so that it is away from eyes, ears and collar. Girls with hair touching the collar should tie it back with navy accessories (elastics, ribbon, scrunchies). No hair dye, make-up or nail polish is permitted. No jewellery is to be worn other than one pair of plain gold or silver studs in ear lobes.

If you have any questions, alterations or additional orders, please contact Melba Studios directly on 9438 4566 or email sales@melbastudios.com.au.

Salvation Army Clothing Drive a Success

We are not able to say thank you enough to all those students, families and staff who contributed to making this event a success. Yr 9 has collected more clothes than they believed was possible. While we did have a small group of students leading this event, Daisy Thomas, Jocelyn Wang and Yumi Konetzny, this event would never have been such a success without all the efforts across the cohort from the many students who rotated the front and back gates each morning for the last three weeks, to those students making announcements and video messages to share with the student body, to the many volunteers who are still meeting to sort the clothing to deliver to the Salvation Army next week.

The students felt strongly that creating the opportunity to devote time and energy to a service initiative would stay with students longer than some other opportunities and they have provided just that. Well done Yr 9!

This Week in Pastoral Care

Students have been challenged to look outward this term to reflect on how they speak with others, how others speak to them and what we celebrate, and what we need to improve on as a cohort. Students worked as a Tutor Group to create a statement that represents their class. One class shared theirs, “Consider with consideration, we are all humans with limits and expectations.”  This conversation will remain ongoing and will build in various topics around inclusivity, respect and acknowledgment of others.

Congratulations

Last weekend, Redlands Rugby coach, Jordy Parsonage, organised a team outside of school including a few Yr 9 boys to take part in the NSW Touch Junior State Cup.  While it seemed to have rained all weekend impacting the outcome of the event, the boys gave their all, played hard and should be very proud of their efforts. Congratulations to Tristan Wong, Alfie Leach, Thomas Reeves, Will De Saxe and Daniel Lev for being invited to attend this event.

Jasmine Black is an incredible Football player and goalie who has given much of her time and effort to crafting her skill. She has been invited to join the Junior Matilda’s Extended Players List. She has worked tirelessly to manage her time between school, cocurricular and her training outside of school. This is a huge accomplishment for Jasmine and we wish her all the best.
