Year 8
Students have done an incredible job this term adjusting from remote learning back to the school environment. They have spent the last few weeks in Tutor focusing on their own character strengths, friendship circles and empathy with a reflection on recent events in the world and at this time in their own educational journey. This week, the additional space for students to run around and play organised games on the Junior Campus at lunch has been a wonderful way for them to get out some extra energy and connect with their peers.
Photos are a quick snapshot of a few Tutor activities and PDHPE activities this week to celebrate the end of term.
While students have demonstrated several strong character strengths in and out of the classroom these last few weeks, there has been a lot impacting the development of this incredible group of young people as a Yr 8 student. Please note the School TV Special Report on checking in with your teen at this time and never hesitate to contact your child’s Tutor or Year Advisor if there are any concerns.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and restful term break!
Yr 8 Parent Teacher Night

If you do have further concerns that may not be addressed in the allotted 5 minute timeslot, please contact the specific teacher individually to set up an additional conversation.

School TV Special Report: Wellbeing Checklist for Secondary
Adolescents are considered to be more at risk for anxiety and other disorders that may affect their mood, thinking or behaviour. If any unusual behaviour lasts for more than a few weeks, there may be cause for concern and it is important to seek additional support as soon as possible. This link also provides additional resources for parents around student anxiety, depression, nutrition, sleep, physical activity, mindfulness and positive parenting.
