Spirit Week 2019

This week was Yr 12 Spirit Week –  Yr 12’s opportunity to celebrate their final few days of school with the school community. Throughout the week, Yr 12 hosted a student led assembly, a House dodgeball competition, staff v students basketball game, school BBQ, performing arts events and a House mufti day on Friday. All proceeds from the fundraising events will go to the Legacy Fund. Thank you, Yr 12.

Yr 9 2020 Cultural Immersion

There was a fantastic turn-out at the Yr 9 2020 Cultural Immersion information evening last week. The evening was inspiring and it’s exciting to see much anticipation and eagerness among the Yr 8 community in response. The evening provided a general overview of the program and an opportunity for a number of key program leaders to share their experiences. If you were unable to attend, there will be much more information shared over the next nine months. At this stage, of particular interest may be the video Culture, Country and Connection from MGGS. The Culture College website also provides a wealth of useful information. If you have any particular questions about the program, please email Mr Simon Colyer, Dean of Activities, or on 9968 9886.

Yr 12 Legacy Gift

The Year 12 Legacy Gift team continued their fundraising efforts by hosting a lunchtime sausage sizzle and drinks stall today. If you wish to join Yr 12 on their Legacy Gift journey and contribute to the means-tested Scholarship Fund with a tax deductible gift, please DONATE HERE. Every gift matters!

ISA Reflection by Mr Nick Walker, Head Coach Redlands Track and Field

Last week, Redlands competed at the ISA Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park.  Redlands won Division 1 Junior Girls, Division 1 Intermediate Girls for the first time and came 3rd in Senior Girls to win the Overall Girls Shield which we hadn’t won since 1997! This was an outstanding achievement. Redlands was the 1st place coeducational school in the ISA Competition as well.

Yr 8 were represented by Bronte Backhouse, Maddie Barwise, Lachlan Binnekamp, Sam Chubb, Catarina Croll, Sebastian Griffith, Oliver Noakes and Marli Prado. Well done to the following Yr 8 students who finished Top 3 in their event:

  • Sebastien Griffith 3rd place in the U14 Boys A 200m
  • Catarina Croll 2nd place in the U14 Girls 3000m
  • Oliver Noakes 3rd place in the U14 Boys B 100m
  • Maia Healey 2nd place in the U13 Girls High Jump
