Greenlands Week – 5/6 September

As part of our celebration of Greenlands Week this week, there are a number of environmental themed activities led by the Environment Prefects and Prefect body.

Thursday 5 September: Redlands will be hosting a school community screening of 2040 at the Orpheum Cinema at 6.00pm. All proceeds from this event go towards environmental initiatives at Redlands. Bookings can be made through TryBooking.

Friday 6 September: The Secondary School will be holding a mufti day with a gold coin donation (funds raised going to GCF). Students may wear green or animal themed attire on the day. All proceeds will go to the Giraffe Conservation Program at Taronga Zoo.

News and Achievements

Congratulations to the following Yr 8 students who are representing Redlands at the 2019 Snowsports Nationals commencing today: Nick Fitzhenry, Sophie McGrath, Julia Murphy and Sienna Wessels. We look forward to hearing results.

Thank you to Ms Bryant (8B) and Ms Scott (8P) for sharing photos of their classes exploring forces and investing friction.

Yr 9 Camp 2020 – Cultural Immersion Program

A reminder that all Yr 9 2020 students and their parents and carers are invited to attend an Information Evening on this new camp program on Wednesday 11 September at .6.15pm in Redlands Hall. Students and parents will hear from members of the Secondary School Leadership Team, representatives from Culture College and Redlands staff and students who have previously been involved with our Yr 10 Cultural Immersion Program to East Arnhem Land. Parents and students will receive more detailed information on the camp program and will be able to ask questions of the representatives in attendance. All Yr 9 2020 students and parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Extra Subject and Co-curricular at Redlands

Redlands has an exciting array of Extra Subject and Cocurricular activities on offer. Trying new activities may lead to uncovering a new hidden interest and helps develop the skills of risk-taking and spontaneity. New activities can also foster new relationships within Yr 8  and across year groups. More information on additional activities available at Redlands can be found HERE. Please note that some Extra Curricular and Cocurricular information for Ballet & Dance, Music and Theatre & Drama may be found under their relevant pages.
