Year 8

News and Achievements
  • Yr 8 enjoyed learning about sustainable water use at Olympic Park last Friday. Thank you to HISIE for organising this excursion.
  • On Monday, students attended a Medieval Man History incursion. Students learnt about key features of medieval Europe before they start their new topic, The Black Death. Pictured are students perusing medieval weapons; and, in helmets and mail from L to R: Maddy D’Almeida, Matt Fry (nearly 35kgs worth!), Jack Lazzarotto, Claudia Lalich, Sam Chubb.
Email

Thank you for your ongoing updates and communication. Due to the large volume of emails received daily, it is not always possible for me to respond to all communication personally. To ensure a prompt response, your first point of call should be your child’s teacher for subject related matters and your child’s Tutor for other enquiries.

Cyber Safety: Project Rockit

In Term 2, the Yr 8 Pastoral Care program will explore cyber safety. On Friday 24 May, Project Rockit will be working with Yr 8 delivering their Dot Com program. The workshop explores the risks and rewards of challenging bullying, building peer support in online spaces, challenging judgement and social labels and launch strategies for students to stand up for themselves and others. The workshop will also address social factors and drivers that often spill online: standing out versus fitting in, relationship ethics, privacy and consent and celebrating diversity.
