Student Representative Council
SRC voting was held on Wednesday this week. Thank you to all students who nominated. Representatives will be announced shortly. The SRC is a leadership development opportunity for students in Yrs 7-10. Elected students will be a student voice and conduit for communication between Executive, school planning and the students. There will be one SRC member elected in your House for each Year Group.
Parent Pastoral Care Presentation with Dr Judith Locke
Thank you to all who attended Dr Judith Locke’s presentation on Monday night. I’ve received a number of positive emails describing the evening as ‘enlightening’, ‘entertaining’, ‘informative’ and ‘practical’. Dr Locke explored how parents can best support their child in an ever-changing world. The workshop was designed to provide specific strategies to assist the young people we care for to achieve their personal best, both within the classrooms as well as in other areas of life. If you were unable to attend and wish to learn more about information covered, you are able to purchase Dr Locke’s book, The Bonsai Child, here. Dr Locke is a Member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
Student Planners
Some students are naturally organised; for others, organisation is a learnt skill. Each cycle, Tutors are viewing Student Planners to ensure they are being used correctly as a tool to aid time management. We ask that parents also assist students in the use of this important resource by viewing and signing Student Planners each week. Students should be recording 1) the date Home Learning is assigned; and, 2) the date Home Learning is due.
Assessment Booklets
The 2019 Yr 8 Assessment Handbook is now available on Redlands Pulse and iLearn.
