Year 8

Safer Internet Day

This week students have been engaging in some fantastic Safer Internet Day initiatives. During our Pastoral Care sessions. Students have been recognising the importance of online safety and have spent some time investigating ‘deepfakes’ and engaged in a quiz to highlight the importance of fake news and the spread of misinformation.

Shout Outs

Well done to Ross Skelton who engaged brilliantly with the ‘design your own library tote bag’ activity last week. The Library Team were so impressed with his design they have asked him to design the next cover of the Roseby Review, our library magazine.

Congratulations to Matthew Brooks who competed in the Cannonball Mountain Bike Competition last week. This was Matthew’s first competition and was the youngest in his division (13 to 15 years). Matthew crossed the finishing line in 20th place, out of hundreds of competitors. An incredible achievement!

Year 8 Camp

Redlands prides itself on its values-driven, real-world education. Our Camps are integral to this.

Building upon prior outdoor camp experiences, The Outdoor Experience is a transformative program designed to foster leadership, teamwork and resilience in students.

Set in the picturesque Myall Lakes, this program centres the student experience on group dynamics and collaboration. Through a variety of outdoor activities, students will face challenges that require them to work together, communicate effectively, and support one another.

A key focus is the development of empathy and compassion. Students will learn to understand and appreciate the perspectives of their peers and and how to be part of a community. For all information prior to departure (including the packing list), please visit the following link.
