Year 8

Letter from a Member of the Public

On Tuesday morning this week I had a letter placed on my desk – very old fashioned, I know!

The letter was from a member of Bougainvillea Village describing the assistance two Yr 8 students provided him when he was having troubles with his computer the week before. 

I was really encouraged reading the sentences “But I wish to praise more than just their technical skills. They were polite, friendly, well dressed, etc. They were a credit to themselves and to your school”.

Well done to Chloe Petering and Ruby Gasmus for living the Redlands values and taking on board the ‘other people matter’ focus we currently have this term.

2023 AMC Assembly Presentation 

Last term 164 Redlanders from Years 7 to 11 sat for the Australian Mathematics Competition held online in Redlands Hall and at Winter School. The AMC is the largest problem-solving competition of its kind, with more than 170 thousand participants from over 2000 schools. The participants are often drawn from the best mathematicians in their school, making achievements even more notable. The following students demonstrated excellence in mathematical problem-solving at the highest levels and received awards in student-led assemblies. (Note – Yr 10 and Yr 11 students to be presented next week).
