Student Absences During Assessments

As we are heading into the middle of the term with some assessment heavy weeks ahead it is worth refreshing the processes if a student will be absent for a formal task, this may be due to illness (the flu is back in full force) or for any other reason.  Section 4 of the Assessment Handbook outlines the processes required and I encourage you to read it in detail.

Two key requirements are:

  • Inform the School via the Secondary School Absences email for illness on the day
  • If there is an advanced knowledge of absence write to the Head of Secondary outlining the reason for the leave, providing requisite details so the nature of the leave can be determined.

Thank you very much for your support in this.

Yr 8 Dance

On the 23 July, the Redlands 7-9 Senior Jazz Performance Group was invited to perform at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney Eisteddfod’s Dance Gala. This group featured Year 8 students Juliet Whelan, Belle Monty, Amelie Dewar, Liliana Halfen, Izzy Bannon, Lucy Goodsall, Charlotte Algar, and Mia Cruttenden. This group was selected following their 1st place win at Sydney Eisteddfod last term.

Being selected for this gala is an incredible achievement, and getting to perform at the Opera House is a really exciting opportunity.

Juliet Whelan reflected on the experience saying, “It was an amazing experience to perform on a world-renowned stage with my friends”

Catch-up AAS Testing

For any student who missed the full AAS testing day on Tuesday or a particular section or the test, a catch-up session has been arranged for next week. This will take place on Tuesday 8 August (Week 4) at school.
