Year 8
Happy Holidays!
As the year draws to a close, Mr Horan and I would like to wish our Yr 8 students and families a very happy and relaxing Summer holiday. While this year has not been without its challenges, our Yr 8 students have overwhelmingly had an excellent year of growth through many opportunities. They have embedded exisiting connections with their peers and made new ones, worked collaboratively with their teachers in a range of settings, and excelled in their personal learning journeys. It has been a pleasure to read students’ academic reports and gauge their progress across many disciplines. It is hard to believe that very soon, in the new year, we will be welcoming students back as the new Redlands Yr 9 cohort.
Secondary School Speech Night
Next Wednesday, we will join together to recognise students’ achievements at the Redlands 139th Secondary School Speech Night, at the Big Top, Luna Park. Please could I ask for your support and request that you reiterate our expectations for behaviour at this important formal event. I have spoken with students at length during our recent Year Assembly and have reminded them that they must be appropriately groomed and attired with shoes polished. Students are advised to be attentive, to refrain from chatting and of course, not use mobile telephones during the event. Thank you for your support to ensure that students behave appropriately so that we can properly celebrate the achievements of our exceptional Yr 8 cohort.
Rock in the Quad
At lunchtime today, students from Yr 7-10 gathered in the Liggins Quad to watch several extremely talented student bands perform some outstanding renditions of rock songs. Well done to the Yr 8’s who showcased their vast talents today!
