Year 8

School Holidays

It is hard to believe that Yr 8 are halfway through the year! For those families travelling these school holidays, we wish you a safe and happy holiday; and for those families having some “at home time”, we wish you a restful and happy break.

Senior Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday, Yr 8 participated with enthusiasm and grit in the 2022 Senior Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. It was wonderful to witness incredibly high participation in both the track and field events. As the sun shone, the stands were electric with House spirit and Yr 8 wildly cheering as their peers challenged themselves in a range of events. Yr 8 should be very proud of their efforts and how they conducted themselves at the carnival.

The following students are to be congratulated on their outstanding achievements:

U13 Boys: Runner Up – Ashley Corn

U14 Girls: Champion – Amber Kusano

U14 Boys: Champion – Landon Mansell

U14 Boys Runner-Up – Finnegan O’Sullivan

Senior Music Festival

Last Friday evening, the Redlands Music Department staged their biggest annual event; the Senior Music Festival. This year’s theme was ‘The Greatest Of All Time’ (GOAT), where the School’s outstanding variety of Music ensembles and various solo performers showcased what they have been working on over the year. The event was held at The Concourse in Chatswood, a professional venue that allows students to experience firsthand what it’s like to perform to large audiences with the support of lighting technicians, sound engineers, stage managers and the dedicated Redlands Music staff. Congratulations to the exceptionally talented Yr 8 students who shone on the stage while playing a variety of musical instruments in a range of ensembles.
