Year 8
Achievements
One of the most engaging and entertaining evenings at Redlands is A Night to Delight, and what a night it was. The impressive display of linguistic skills, costumes, music and delicious culinary treats. The Japanese Soran Fisherman’s Dance was fantastic, and such a wonderful display of costume, language and dance. The School Hymn sung in Latin was excellent, and I know Dr Lennox was very impressed. The Can-Can was outstanding with such colour and enthusiasm. The beautiful Story of the Moon Festival was lovely, and the explanation so wonderfully explained. And lastly, the La Gozadera Spanish performance was outstanding. Congratulations to all of Yr 8 for such a wonderful evening and thank you sincerely to Mr John Holden and his team in the Languages Department for the incredible amounts of time and effort which went into making it such a successful evening.
Congratulations to Remy Wilson, Jacob Gold, Kyle Banfield and Charlie Baskerville who attended the Aurecon Bridge Building Competition at the Art Gallery of NSW this week. What a fantastic experience and achievement for the boys. Further details will be in the Science section of next week’s Note Day.
As of this week, every Tutor group in Yr 8 is to plan and lead the fortnightly Year Assembly. This week Cowper Blue is to be congratulated on an exceptional presentation. From the fantastic dance piece, to the Heads and Tails quiz; these students, with their Tutor, Ms Patton, are to be commended on their efforts. Well done Cowper Blue.

Announcements
Week 5 is National Science Week, with the theme Game Changers and Change Makers. The scheduled events for the week are incredible, from guest speaker, to paper aeroplane throwing competitions, to breakfast with a Scientist. Please note that Breakfast with a Scientist is a great opportunity to hear from parents who work in the Science area about their careers. Students must register and the link has been sent to them by Mrs Harrisson through student emails. What a fantastic week it will be.
