Year 7
Subject Selection – Yr 7 into 8
It is time for all Yr 7 students to start thinking about their Language and Arts selections for Yr 8 2021. Further information was sent to parents by Mr David Randall, Dean of Studies. Mr Randall spoke to Yr 7 on Tuesday 4 August to outline the process for Subject Selections. Please click here for the Year 7 2020 into Year 8 2021 Information Booklet. It is important that students and parents read through this booklet carefully.
Students also received a personal Login Webcode which they will need when selecting and nominating their electives for Yr 8 2021. These numbers provided are an individual code specific to individual students. There are instructions at the back of the booklet as to how to use and select your Online Subject Selections via the web form. Please note: Submissions are due by Friday 21 August. We hope you find this information useful and informative. If you have any questions, please contact Mr David Randall, Dean of Studies by email.
Summer Sports Registration
Please click here for the 2020/2021 Summer sport registration.
Every student in Yr 7 must complete this form regardless of their intended participation or exemption in rep or non rep sport. A lack of completion of this form will mean students will be allocated a sport at the discretion of the Redlands Sports Department. This form will close on Friday 14 August at 12.00pm. Students should first discuss their desired selection with their parents or carers prior to committing to the sport. Information for each representative or non-representative sport can be found on Redlands Pulse. Students must be logged into their school Google account in order to complete the form. Should students have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Tom Kindred (Head of Secondary Sport).
Athletics Carnival
The 2020 Redlands Athletics Carnival is to be held on Friday 14 August (Term 3, Week 4) at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre – Warm Up Track. The Carnival will take in a different form in 2020 due to current COVID-19 restrictions. As a result, the Carnival is limited to a maximum of 400 students. This Carnival will be optional for students from Yrs 7-11 and compulsory for Yr 12. Any student interested in attending will need to pre-register for the events prior to the day link here. Preference will be given to those students who have attended training. The Carnival will run from 9.30am-2.30pm with students departing school at 8.30am and returning to school by 3.20pm. There will be no spectators allowed at the event.
This will still be an official Carnival, counting towards House aggregate points, age and division champion trophies and all records will be valid and ratified.
There will be no canteen available on the day. Students who wish to order a pre-packed lunch for the Carnival are asked to do so through the School Canteen’s Flexischool ordering system (these orders need to be completed by Monday 10 August). Students must bring their own water bottles.
Below is the registration process. Students must sign up to at least two track events and two field events in order to attend the Carnival. Registrations will close at 4.00pm on Wednesday 12 August. A confirmed timetable along with details of arrival and departure process will be communicated by Thursday 13 August when all entries and the competitor schedule is confirmed. It is anticipated that due to the reduced numbers, this carnival will run over a shorter period compared to previous years. Any student who is not attending the Carnival will have normal academic classes throughout the day. If you have any questions regarding events or the registration process, please contact the Sports Department.
