Year 7

Welcome back to campus Yr 7!  What an exciting morning to see our delightful Yr 7 students come back onto campus. The excitement all around the cohort was fantastic and their enthusiasm to get back into class was wonderful to note.

Updated Student Arrival Time Weeks 3 and 4

Please note that we have amended the time which the campus will be open for students in Weeks 3 and 4. Students may arrive now from 7.30am in Weeks 3 and 4. This earlier time will facilitate an earlier arrival for Yr 12 students who have before school classes, as well as those students who might arrive to school before 8.00am because of school buses or other transportation arrangements. In addition, this earlier time will also help to alleviate possible congestion between 8.00-8.15am as students are arriving to school and having their temperature checks. Temperature checking will now be open from 7.30am for students arriving on campus. Please note that the Library and outdoor courts will not be available for student use before school.

Yr 7 Vaccinations Update

Yr 7 vaccinations will be: Dose 1 – 11 June and Dose 2 will be postponed to Term 1 2021, date TBA.

Parent Webinar – Brett Lee Understanding and Managing an Online World

Thank you to all the parents who attended the webinar on Tuesday 12 May. Brett Lee shared some excellent messages surrounding the areas of technology and the reality of how it can impact on the lives of our young people, digital footprint, cyberbullying and sexting.

Brett highlighted five simple key principles around the management of the online space for parents to consider:

  1. Set clear rules and boundaries
  2. You make the final decisions
  3. Use management controls
  4. Stay up to date with your child’s usage
  5. Communicate with your children

Key points to discuss with your children:

  • The internet is a public and permanent space
  • To always protect their personal details online
  • Everyone has rules on the internet and on computers
  • Talk to a trusted adult if they have any online problems
