Congratulations to all of our Yr 7 students and parents for a fantastic first year in the Secondary School! Thank you for your support throughout the year in ensuring that we have a caring and strong village to raise this incredible group of young people. Katharine Boase and I look forward to another exciting year ahead as we continue with this group into Yr 8.
End of Year Reminders
While summer is just around the corner, students are reminded that classes are still in full effect and curriculum continues to be covered. Some students have needed further reminding of classroom expectations and requirements as they enter these last few weeks. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this message at home as well so students can use these last classes to set the tone for the beginning of their Yr 8 learning experience.

Student Achievements
Congratulations and best of luck to Tristan Wong as he represents Redlands at the Australian Schools Tennis Challenge. We also wish Isaac Swann and Kabir Yohannan the best of luck as they represent Redlands at the Tennis Australia’s Tournament 2019.
Congratulations and best of luck to Alexandra Tanner and Eva Osborn as they represent Redlands at the Australian Schools Basketball Championships in Melbourne next week.
Congratulations to all of our students who earned Language Perfect Certificates for their excellent dedication to studying a foreign language. A special congratulations to the award recipients for the 2019 Education Perfect Language Championships: Charlie Parker (Credit), Hugo Little (Credit), Jiaqi Guan (Bronze), Lauren Hill (Bronze), Olivia Salmond (Bronze), Tara Gold (Bronze), Isaac Brooks (Gold), Johnny Wang (Gold) and Conor Petersen (Emerald).
Congratulations to all students who participated in and received Distinction and High Distinction Awards for their performance in the International Competitions and Assessments in Schools in Mathematics. The following students received a High Distinction this year in ICAS Mathematics: Johnny Wang, Christopher Szeto, Krishan Price and Flynn Kieran. Flynn Kieran is also congratulated for receiving High Distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition as well.
Congratulations and a job well done to all students who participated in the extra subject Drama throughout the year. Their recent Drama Soiree performances were extremely impressive and their love for the subject has come through.
We wish our dancers the best of luck as they perform in the Ballet and Dance Concert this week.
New Core Classes in Yr 8
Each year, students are encouraged to meet and learn from other students in their cohort. Shuffling core classes supports students in developing their social skills in a new environment and fosters personal growth.
Assistance Dogs Australia
Students are completing the last of four fundraisers this week in support of Assistance Dogs Australia. Their enthusiasm and creativity in this initiative has been overwhelming and we encourage them to keep this motivation and love for service into Yr 8 and beyond.
Anglicare Toys ‘n’ Tucker

Summer Recommendations from Dr Prue Salter
Summer provides the perfect time for students to revisit their filing system and determine where they might keep their assessments or notes from this year that they might need again for subjects next year. It might also be the time to clean out and determine a better way to organise for Yr 8 after some reflection on how this year went. See tips from the module shown below for further strategies and guidance.
