Year 7
This Week
Thank you all for a wonderful Parent Teacher Night this week. There was a buzz across the Year Group with exciting chatter and some nerves prior to the evening. It is a supportive reminder for students to hear first-hand from their teachers, in front of their parents, that this is a partnership and we are all here to support them in their learning. Please contact a teacher directly for any additional feedback or if you were not able to meet with a specific teacher this week.
Isaac Brooks finished in 35th place in the 13 Years Boys 3km at the All Schools Cross Country. The competition was a great learning venture for Isaac with the high standard of competition from ISA through to State. For Isaac to finish in the top 40 is an exceptional result, as mentioned by Coach Nick Walker. He is pictured below after his race with Emma Mahon (Yr 10), an avid runner and mentor for Isaac, and during his race.
A large handful of Yr 12 role models have started an initiative to touch base with the Yr 7 cohort on a couple of occasions prior to graduation. They wanted to reflect on their own experience through school and share their knowledge, challenges, learnings and more with a few guided questions and others taken from the Yr 7 cohort. Each House had a chance to speak with 2-3 Yr 12 students and after a short warm up, the questions came rolling in. This was a wonderful first round of Q&A. Yr 12 plans to visit with Yr 7 at least once more after their Trial Examinations. We thank them for their time and wish them luck in Trials!
