Year 7

Congratulations to Yr 7 for a fantastic NAPLAN week! While it was a lot of preparation and cognitively challenging, the students organised themselves quickly and efficiently each morning and took the test very seriously once they entered Redlands Hall. We had a first from memory this morning when every single Yr 7 student was on time with their calculator in hand. When students are prepared and follow instructions it really helps make the events run smoothly and efficiently. They should be very proud of their efforts and they have been acknowledged for their success in being prepared this week. 

Term 2 Pastoral Care: Hitting Our Stride

This term students will focus on refining their habits, study skills and other tools for success by revisiting many ideas introduced to them in Term 1 and adding a few new ones to their repertoire. The Yr 7 Pastoral program has been designed to include strategies and ideas from: Burn Bright program, Pru Salter’s Study Skills, 7 Habits of  Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey and feedback from our wonderful Yr 7 cohort.  A snapshot of our program each week includes:

Announcements and Upcoming Events
  • Yr 7 Parent Coffee Morning will be held Friday 24 May from 8.30 – 11.00am at Helen Hill’s house, 6 Abernethy Street, Seaforth. As it’s the Biggest Morning Tea that week, we’d like to help the Cancer Council to raise some funds so please bring a gold coin to donate (or a credit card to use to donate online). If you can’t make it but would like to donate you can click here.
