Year 7
Thank you to everyone who came to our Yr 7 Meet and Greet on Monday evening. It was a beautiful night and a wonderful chance to meet many parents. There was a positive buzz throughout the night and into the next day from teachers and staff.
Camp
Student descriptions of camp included: ” Wet,” “Challenging,” ” Fun,” “Tiring” and “Open to new experiences.” Many students put themselves out of their comfort zones and learned something new about themselves. They are an incredible group to have spent the week with in Jindabyne.
Attendance
In the Secondary School an email has to be sent to Secondary School Absences for any missed school day, late arrival or early departure. As a reminder for Carnival days and excursions, please read through information posted for each event as attendance is compulsory and please alert Secondary School Absences for any changes to transportation to or from the venue. The Tutor, Year Advisor and Assistant Year Advisor appreciate being cc’d in this communication. When this information is received prior to the event, it ensures we have accurate information for the care and safety of your child throughout the day. It is expected that students depart and return with the cohort on the provided school bus and remain for the entire duration of the event. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
When absent, students are expected to check iLearn for any missed work and are encouraged to write their teachers an email asking for any further information to support their learning when they are absent for multiple days.

Dr Judith Locke Presentation
On Monday 25 February, we are very pleased to be hosting clinical psychologist and author of The Bonsai Child, Dr Judith Locke. This is part of our ongoing focus on wellbeing, as well as providing another of the many parent education and engagement opportunities here at Redlands. The event is being held in Redlands Hall and begins at 6.00pm.
In an ever-changing world, parents are constantly wondering how they can best support their child. As part of our on-going efforts to support parents we are excited to announce that Clinical Psychologist and author Dr Judith Locke will be coming to Redlands to present two workshops for parents around how to support their child to become confident and capable. These workshops are designed to provide specific strategies to assist the young people we care for to achieve their personal best, both within the classrooms as well as in other areas of life. Judith will provide advice as to how to support your child in a friendly and relatable way as well as providing specific strategies around how to help your child become independent and make the most of their opportunities whilst at school.
Dr Judith Locke is a registered clinical psychologist, and former teacher and workplace trainer. She is now Director of the training company, Confident and Capable, which delivers psychological solutions for parents, students and organizations. Judith works with families and individuals in her private practice in Toowong, Qld. She also undertakes research at QUT, investigating modern parenting, student and parent wellbeing, and their interaction with the academic environment. Judith is a Member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is the author of the popular parenting book The Bonsai Child: Why modern parenting limits children’s potential and practical strategies to turn it around.
