Vaccinations
Our second and final round of Vaccinations will occur on Wednesday 14 November. No forms need to be submitted for this round as consent forms were collected at the start of the year.
Burn Bright
On Wednesday 21 November, Burn Bright will be visiting Yr 7 to run a full day program called Recipe for Success. The program provides students with a toolkit to help them build important skills that will assist them in Secondary School. It assists young people to build a sense of identity, supports new friendships and enhances self-efficacy to improve resilience.
Fundraising Assistance Dogs Australia
Thank you all who contributed to our Yr 7 Bake Sale today to raise money for Assistance Dogs Australia. Our final fundraising activity is a House Coin Competition on Wednesday 14 November. All students are encouraged to bring in the spare change jar from home (we all have one!) and each House will lay out their coins to create a line from the top terraces. The longest line wins a Pizza lunch! On Friday 16 November, Yr 7 will be having a presentation by Assistance Dogs Australia in Redlands Hall during Tutor and P3 where Yr 7 will share with them the total amount we have raised.
STEAM Project 2018 – Beneath the Surface

On Tuesday next week, Yr 7 will participate in a presentation led by Redlands Environment Prefects Alice MacDonald and Benjamin Piro and Wenona student Alexia Giannesini, an Ambassador for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, who will be looking at the 2018 International Year of the Reef. In exploring aspects of climate change and global warming that cause coral bleaching, including human impact, students will be learning about the cause and effect on coral reefs both here in Australia and around the world.
This presentation is the starting point for the exciting Yr 8 STEAM project-based learning experience that interconnects Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This interdisciplinary learning experience, is one that Y 7 students may themselves participate in next year. For more information on the specifics of the project, please refer to the Yr 8 page.
