Year 7
What a Week for Yr 7
This week has been filled with excitement as we have been getting our students ready for camp. Camp offers a fantastic chance for students to enjoy nature, get active, and make new friends. While it might feel a bit overwhelming at first, we know that facing new challenges builds resilience in our young people. Plus, the memories they’ll create during this time will last a lifetime. As we put the final touches on our preparations, we are excited for the adventures that lie ahead in the great outdoors.
Assembly
As a testament to our commitment to fostering a positive school culture, we took a moment to honor those students who have exemplified the core Redlands Values. The Leadership Rhino Award is for a student who has demonstrated courage, strength and inspirational leadership along with our core values which include Respect, Fairness, Responsibility, Honesty, Moral Courage and Compassion. A Rhino Award recipient fearlessly leads by example and demonstrates the heart of a rhino in their commitment to our school.
Well done to the following students:
- Millicent Kroon
- Owen Beck
- Ekam Sethi
- Isaac Bishop
- Raphael Beasley
- Julian Lundberg
Y-Safe
This week we were fortunate enough to listen to a YSafe presentation with our friends in Yr 8. YSafe stands as a dedicated advocate for children’s online safety, recognising the critical need to create a secure digital environment for our youth. In an era dominated by technology, it’s vital to educate children about the potential risks and equip them with the tools to navigate the online world responsibly. YSafe plays a pivotal role in promoting awareness, providing resources, and collaborating with parents and educators to ensure that children can harness the benefits of the internet while staying protected from potential dangers. In a world increasingly connected through screens, YSafe emphasises the importance of instilling digital literacy and fostering a culture of responsible online behavior for the wellbeing of our children.
For additional information, here is an article about Online Safety Basics written by the E-Safety Commissioner.
