Year 7
We would like to welcome our Year 7 students to the exciting world of Secondary School. This marks the beginning of a journey filled with discovery, growth and countless opportunities. Rest assured that our dedicated team of teachers and staff are here to support your child every step of the way.
Secondary School is not only about academic development but also about students forming lasting friendships and exploring their unique potential. Your ongoing support and involvement are instrumental in making this transition a positive and enriching experience for your child.
Throughout the year, Mr Nick Walker (Assistant Year Advisor), your child’s Tutor and I will be available to assist you. We are here to discuss your child’s progress and help address any concerns that may arise. We also encourage you to share any achievements or successes your child experiences outside of school, as we believe in celebrating their milestones together.
We understand the importance of effective communication between parents and staff. While we aim to respond to emails and calls within 48 hours, please understand that our teachers juggle various responsibilities. Rest assured, your messages are important to us and will be addressed as promptly as possible.
Here’s to a fantastic start to this new chapter!
This Week’s Events
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful start our Year 7 students had during their initial transition days at Redlands. Monday was filled with activities aimed at fostering connections as students engaged in breaking the ice sessions in their core classes. Students received their timetables, planners and lockers, and had the chance to bond over some fun and energetic games with their Tutor groups.
On the second day, the focus shifted to digital organisation, classroom rules and expectations. Additionally, a Stage Assembly with our peers in Year 8 provided a valuable opportunity for our Year 7 students to familiarise themselves with the broader school community.
Shout Outs
In our Year 7 community, gratitude plays a significant role, and we want to express a heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated staff at Redlands who contributed to making the start of the year incredibly successful.
A huge shout out also goes to our Year 11 Peer Support Leaders who played a pivotal role in ensuring that our Year 7 students began their journey at Redlands in the best possible way.
Well done to Millicent Kroon and Owen Beck who contributed to our first ever Stage Assembly by reading our Acknowledgement to Country and Prayer. A fantastic start to the year!

A Medical Authority Form needs to be completed for any prescription medication – please email forms to Mr Atkins (eatkins@redlands.nsw.edu.au) by Friday, 9 February.

Any Over the Counter medication (Claratyne etc…) should be in the original packaging and a Medical Authority Form.

Students will need to bring a nut-free packed recess and lunch for the first day. All other food is provided. Redlands continues to deliver Camp programs in partnership with The Outdoor Education Group (OEG).
