Year 7

Visual Arts Exhibition

The Annual Yr 3-12 Visual Arts Exhibition is being held this week in Redlands Hall. This is the first time since 2019, that the Visual Arts faculty have been able to hold the annual exhibition in the hall as in recent years the format was a virtual exhibition online. Yr 7 were delighted to see their principles paintings and gargoyle sculptures displayed. This week, students have had the opportunity to view the exhibition in their art classes with particular focus on understanding the conceptual and technical practice of our Yr12 HSC students. The high quality of the Yr 12 bodies of work has proved inspirational for many of our Yr 7 artists.

ICAS

The Mathematics Department will be running the ICAS Maths Competition on Tuesday 30th August during Week 7A. Our Yr 7 students will sit the competition during Periods 1 & 2. Students sitting this competition are Extension Maths students and those that have already expressed their interest.

Yr 7 History Excursion

Next week, Yr 7 History students will be visiting the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney as part of their study of the ancient world. The cohort will be going across two days:

• Core classes 7O, 7G and 7M will attend on Monday 29 August
• Core classes 7R, 7B, 7P and 7Y will attend on Friday 2 September

Students will depart from the Redlands Secondary campus at 8.20am and return to school by 1pm. They will have lunch at Redlands and attend their regular timetabled classes in periods 5 and 6.
Students are kindly asked to:

• Wear their full school uniform, including blazer
• Pack their recess, a face mask and any personal medication (e.g. asthma puffer, EpiPen) in a small bag (school bags are to be left at school)
