Year 7

Welcome back to Term 3, it was wonderful to watch students reconnect with one another this week after the three week break. The cohort was a buzz with news of overseas adventures, stay vacations, movies seen, Waringah Mall shopping trips, online gaming, and of course Perisher and Thredbo. It was great to see students relaxed and rejuvenated after the holidays.

In Tutor Time on Friday, Tutors will have one to one Connection Conversations to prepare students for Semester 2. These conversations will be student led and will provide students with the opportunity to articulate their goals for the semester. The aim of this session is for students to understand the value of process (habit) based goals, to draw connections between their goals, processes and their Effort Tracking and to critically reflect on their strengths as well as areas for further growth and self management.

Student Arrivals and Departures

Welcome to our two new students Tallis Hill and Tilde Heiderg Kjaer and their families. Our Yr 7 students have already been very supportive and welcoming to both Tallis and Tilde. At the end of Term 2 we farewelled Kelly Sullivan (returning to the U.S.) and Molly Ashcroft (returning to the UK). I am regularly heartened by the way Redlands welcomes new students into our community, and I do see it as one of our signature strengths. Yr 7 have certainly rallied to ensure the girls make a seamless transition.

Student Achievements

Finn Gurney is competing in All Schools Cross Country this Friday. This is a wonderful achievement and we wish Finn every success on Friday.

Snowsports Interschools and Redlands Cup

A number of Yr 7 students participated in Snowsports Interschools and Redlands Cup during the July Holidays at Thredbo. It continues to be a wonderful opportunity for both children and families and the following students are to be commended for their participation: Arkie Richards, Isabelle Bannon, Robbie Smith, Beau Potter, Penny Vincent McGovern, Amelie Beeton, Lila Soste, Mia Cruttenden, Ted Huang, Andy Guan, Patrick Sun and Ava Keller. A special mention and warm congratulations to Ava, who was a podium finisher, placing third in Moguls (overall). Well done, Ava.
