Year 7

At this point in the term students will be be engaging in assessment for learning and they will have assessment tasks to hand in. Today, our Dean of Studies (Yrs 7-10), Ms Anna-Marie Rolon, spoke with our Year 7 students about where to seek help if they were concerned or unsure about any aspect of an assessment task. Ms Rolon reminded students in the first instance that they should speak with their class teacher or the Subject Coordinator. Teachers will be able to support students should they struggle understanding the requirements, marking criteria or if they have poor task initiation, or are failing to progress in a timely manner. Year 7 Tutors are also a good source of support and will be able to work with students if organisation is a problem. Students were also reminded of the Study Centre where specialist subject teachers and coordinators give of their time to work with students. Computational Algorithmic Thinking Competition

NAPLAN Tests

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a point in time assessment of literacy and numeracy skills. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the annual tests in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. All NSW schools will sit NAPLAN online in 2022.

Year 7 and 9 students will be participating in NAPLAN between 10 and 12 May 2022. A catch up opportunity for any missed test sessions will be provided on 13 May.

Students are required to bring the following to the test:

  • A fully charged laptop
  • Headphones
  • A pen or pencil
