Yr 7 Meet and Greet
It was wonderful to see Yr 7 parents and carers in person for the long-awaited Yr 7 Meet and Greet. We hope that this event provided you with a great opportunity to say hello to your child’s teachers, and to establish and affirm these important partnerships.
NAPLAN
On Tuesday 11 May, Wednesday 12 May and Thursday 13 May, students in Yr 7 in all Australian Government, Catholic and Independent Schools will sit the annual National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The NAPLAN examinations are designed to assess reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. Following the tests, all parents across Australia will receive results in a common reporting format.
While all students in Yr 7 are expected to participate in NAPLAN testing it is important for you and your child to know that NAPLAN is not a pass/fail test. It simply looks at what level students are achieving in literacy and numeracy against National Standards and compared with student peers throughout Australia. Access to New Change Rooms
Our new student changing rooms are open this week. Staff will be communicating the rules and expectations when using this space.
The new boys changing room is located in the old IB office and the girls room can be found in the old Lost Property room in the Gym. Both rooms can be used in conjunction with the current bathrooms. Opening times for both are as follows:
7.45am – 8.15am
10.10am-10.30am
1.15pm-1.30pm
Reminders
Lockers
As mentioned last week, students are required to have a lock for their locker. This is to ensure that they can store their belongings safely whilst at school.
Uniform
Please ensure that your child is wearing the correctly sized Winter Uniform. Students will receive a Uniform Demerit should they be wearing their uniform incorrectly and will be asked to visit the Uniform Shop to rectify the problem.
