Year 12

Examinations

Examinations for both the IB and HSC programs wrapped up on Monday. Over the course of the next two weeks, our Yr 12 students will begin receiving results and feedback from their teachers. There will no doubt be mixed feelings for students during this period. Please do frame any conversations that you have with your child through a positive and encouraging lens. Please connect with your child’s Tutor, Mr Randall, Mr Taylor and myself if you have any concerns regarding their academic progress or wellbeing in relation to this recent examination period.

It was such a pleasure to connect with students during the recent break when many took advantage of the Study Centre to prepare for their exams. It was exciting to witness students working collaboratively on Maths problems, using the white board walls of the Learning Hub rooms to plan and problem solve.

Student Achievements

We wish Liam Dow the best of luck as he trials for ISA Football.

Siebren Elzinga has avidly pursued a strong interest in Golf and he recently participated in his first Junior Golf Tournament, the 41st Annual Muirfield Junior Open 2021. It was a stroke play event, meaning that the total amount of the player’s shots added up to their total score. He won a trophy and a cash prize of $150. Siebren is striving to achieve a zero handicap and judging by his recent success, he is well on his way to achieving his goal.

Emma Mahon achieved fantastic results in the recent Australian Track and Field Championships. Emma competed in the U20 (combined 18 and 19 years) 1500m heats and was pleased to come away with an equal PB and place 14th. Her main event, at the Championships was the U20 (combined 18 and 19 years) 5000m. She was very excited to place 4th overall in this event with a 64 second PB time of 17:39.
