Careers Week

Well done to those Yr 12 students who participated in the Careers Week events. I know that there was plenty of interest in hearing from Matt Church, Janine Garner and the Redlands Alumni who participated in a Speed Networking Event on Thursday afternoon. We also have The Great Debate (Teachers vs Students) during Friday lunchtime. Thank You Cards

Yr 12 took the time this week in Tutor Time to write out thank you cards to a number of essential services. We had the privilege to send our heartfelt thanks to RNSH and other local medical services. It was humbling to see the such a kind and mature approach taken by the Yr12 cohort in response to this initiative. Well done.  

Student Achievements

Well done and good luck to Aleisha Lawrence and Sirena Scotting for their continued efforts with their ISDA Debating which is still running via Zoom on Friday evenings.

Study Skills 

The second of Dr Salter’s special video series for Yr 12 has now been released and students and parents can access it using this link – Username: drsaltersgroup; Password: videoseries2. In this series Dr Salter will guide you through making the most of Term 2. The videos are set up so students can watch the parts that are most relevant to them. 

Topics covered are:

  1. The importance of Term 2 (and why I think this will be a really good year to try and get into university).
  2. Keeping this year in perspective.
  3. Planning for this term (if you only watch one video, watch this one).
  4. Struggling to learn in the online environment.
  5. Do you struggle to work at home? Not a great home learning environment? Finding it hard to stay motivated? Finding it hard to stay focused?
  6. Make study notes now that will be easier to learn later.
  7. Some recent questions from students you might find useful.

Yr 12 Privileges

Yr 12 students will not be able to access lunchtime privileges when at school and must remain on campus during their lunch period. Yr 12 students can still access their privilege of late arrival and/or early departure as per previously communicated expectations and should sign in and out of the Secondary School Office for late arrivals or early departures.
