Year 12
Yr 12 Study Room
We have now opened a space where both IB/HSC students can work collaboratively with their peers. This space will allow them to use their time interacting and learning alongside each in an environment that is friendly to do so. At the moment it will be open every Wednesday from 3.30-5.30pm in T14. This space will be supervised by Dr Regis.
Parking
We have reminded all students to be considerate when parking around the school. Students should not park over residents’ driveways or too close to other vehicles. Common sense needs to prevail in this situation.
Sport
If students are currently competing in a Summer Rep Sport (2019/2020) they do not have to complete a Winter Sport. However, it is beneficial to maintain a healthy lifestyle so if they enjoy sport – I encourage them to keep playing.
School Photographs
The following photographs will be taken by Advanced Life on Wednesday 11 March on the Senior Campus. Students are required to wear blazers.
- Sibling photos in the Redlands Hall from 7.15 – 8.20am. Junior School siblings are welcome to have their photo taken on 11 March if they were unable to attend the Junior Campus sibling photo day last week.
- Cocurricular Dance and Debating during recess and lunch.
Order envelopes are available from the Secondary School Office and orders for photography packages can also be placed securely online at www.advancedlife.com.au using our School Order Code: NWL 4NR ETY. Portrait and group package orders are due by photography day. Should you have any queries concerning school photographs or online ordering, please direct them to enquiries@advancedlife.com.au.
Swimming Carnival
Thank you to all those students who made their final Swimming Carnival a special one. There was a really fantastic vibe around the pool due to the Yr 12 students leading by example and competing in so many events. The Yr 12 novelty race was entertaining and all students are congratulated for giving it a go.
Congratulations to our Age Champions (there is a full list of Swimming results in the Sports section): Girls 18 Champion – Jennifer Grant; Girls 18 Runner Up – Maddison Hampton-Vickers; Boys 18 Champion – Flynn Henry; Boys 18 Runner Up – Ben Stuart.
Approaches to Learning Awards
We were delighted to recognise the following students who have demonstrated a significant improvement to their approaches to learning in 2019: Grace Flavell, Harrison Garrett, Isabella Glynn, Carl Hansen, Jiuzhen He, Gabrielle Hicks, Josephine McDonald and Rhys Taylor.
Conversations
Ms Wilson and I want to reiterate what we have said before – if students are feeling overwhelmed or feel like they are drowning – please ask them reach out to us so that we can help support them.
Cross Country Training
Cross Country training will begin on Friday 13 March (Week 7) at 6.20am at Primrose Oval. The training session will run for an hour. Students will need to be dropped off to Primrose Oval for the start of the session and after the session, coaches will walk the students back up to the Senior Campus at 7.20am to allow time for the students to get changed to make it to lessons for Period 1. The training is open to any athlete who would like to train for the School Cross Country Carnival which is on Thursday 2 April.
If your child is selected for the Redlands ISA Cross Country team after the School Cross Country Carnival, there will be training sessions which will run every Friday morning until Friday 5 June.
If you have any questions in regards to the training sessions, please email the Cross Country Sports Administrator Kate Seebohm or the Head Coach of Middle Distance, Nick Walker.
