Year 12
Pastoral Care
House spirit is not just for sports carnivals. Teamwork, participation and community are essential elements of the House system. During Tutor Time this week, students were encouraged to sign up and participate in the Easter House Fun Day. This included Rob the Nest, Hat Parade, Egg Hunt and the Egg and Spoon Race. The fun competitions brought a sense of vibrancy to the cohort and will greatly help to boost their spirits among their busy academic studies.
Recommended Hours of Study: Dr Prue Salter
In the months prior to examinations, students will still have homework and assignments to deal with. Keeping that in mind, the recommended amount of regular study for Senior students is about 2-3 hours per day and around 6 hours on the weekend. In the last two weeks before examinations, students will want to increase this amount slightly, both during the week and on weekends. In the holidays, we would expect that weekly personal study hours may increase slightly as more time through the day becomes available. Of course, these are suggested guidelines and the quality of study activities and strategies far out-weighs the time spent on them.
Careers and Universities
From this week onwards, information on universities will be posted on a new platform – Bridge U. All students underwent the training on how to adapt to this new system during Tutor Time in the past two weeks. Please contact Ms Salier directly if any student still has issues using it.
Musical Strictly Ballroom
Our School Musical has always been a fun event with a large cast and loads of great upbeat songs and dance numbers. This year is no exception. Twenty Yr 12s are involved in this production with different roles as cast members, production and props crew or the make-up team. On top of their busy school work schedule, these students have rehearsed every Monday afternoon, Tuesday lunch, Friday afternoon and all day Sunday since the beginning of this year to prepare for the shows this week! Tickets are selling fast, and we hope you will all come along and enjoy the classic romantic comedy Strictly Ballroom.
Student Parking
Students are reminded to park according to the road rules. If there are painted lines on the road, you are not allowed to park over the top of them. If you do, you are in danger of receiving a parking ticket. Please also be mindful to leave a reasonable amount of space in front of or behind your vehicle when you park. We ask all students to be respectful of our local neighbours to not encroach over driveways.
