Year 12
All The Best
It has been an absolute privilege to work with all of you towards the end of this challenging and rewarding journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Yr 12 Tutors, Ms Vale and Ms Boase for their energy, compassion and care of our students. I would also like to thank all Yr 12 parents for their ongoing support and communication throughout. The Secondary School Parent Contact Group would like to thank Sara McAllister, Sofia Brisson and Marianne Urth for their great work as the Yr 12 parent representatives this year. We’d like to thank them for giving up their time so freely to support the Yr 12 parents. Best wishes to Sara, Sofia and Marianne and all the Yr 12 students as the exam season approaches.
Final Chapel
Thank you to Secondary School Chaplain, Bronwyn Lihou, for our Final Chapel Service on Monday. It was wonderful to hear our student reflections, the expression in their musical performances and the overall message of kindness and empathy.
Pilgrimage
On Monday, some Yr 12 students made the pilgrimage back to the Junior Campus. Students who had attended Redlands House or the Preparatory School visited Kindergarten classrooms to take part in their reading, construction and gymnastics classes. Yr 12 students who had attended the Junior School visited Yr 6 classrooms to reflect on their transition to high school and answer their questions. It was a beautiful experience to hear the students reminiscing as they walked over and to see their excitement as they reconnected with their former teachers.
Breakfast Cruise
In typical form, Yr 12 celebrated their final school day with gratitude and fun. We started with a breakfast cruise on the harbour as students let their hair down and caught their breath. This was followed by relaxation and games at Balmoral Beach. Many members of the public asked us which school they came from and commented on the polite and respectful way they celebrated throughout the day.
Final Assembly
Our final School Assembly was a powerful event as our Arts, Sports and School Captains gave moving speeches to inspire our younger years. All students and teachers can’t thank Yr 12 enough for their openness and honesty during this assembly. They stood up to show the challenges they encountered throughout their schooling in a bid to let students know that their character that was forged through these challenges and that no matter what they’re going through – they are never alone.
Valedictory
Thank you to Events Manager, Melanie Hendra, for coordinating a superb finale. The warmth and positivity throughout the night was the perfect representation of the cohesion and strength of the most incredible Year Group of all time. We wish Yr 12 all the best in their future and hope to hear from them as they work their way through their next adventure.
