School Climate Survey

Starting from Week 4, students will be invited to complete a School Climate Survey.

The survey is anonymous and aims to gather data from the student body regarding the climate at Redlands. It provides an opportunity for students to give feedback on the school environment, acknowledge peers who contribute positively or voice any concerns. Once the data is collected, it will be provided to the Year Advisor, Head of Secondary School, Counsellors, and the Dean of Students. This information will help inform effective interventions and foster our inclusive community.

Yr 8-12
Dance Curriculum Showcase

Last week, all dance students from Yr 8 to Yr 12 performed multiple pieces in the Dance Curriculum Showcase. Students took the audience on an emotional journey and captivated our attention from the beginning. Congratulations to all students for their time, effort and determination in their preparation and brilliant performances.

HSC students Maddie Lamport and Summer-Eve-Smyth performed Core Performance and Major Study Performance which was teacher choreographed and they both had student dancers perform their own compositions that they had created and taught themselves.

IB students Josie Bannon, Anabelle Cullen, Lara Farrell, Halcyon Hunt, Mikaela Hunter, Ashley Stapleton and Tiana Vatandoust all performed two performance works which were teacher choreographed.

Student Highlight: Jasmine Black

Next week, Jasmine has been invited to complete at the Girls All Schools Tournament in Perth. She will be representing NSW in a team of 16 players against other teams from other states. This opportunity came out of her performance at ISA, CIS and the NSW All Schools Tournaments. It is a demanding job being an elite athlete and balancing her dedication to her academics and her position as School Captain.

Jasmine says the biggest thing she has learned this year, more than anything, is positive self-talk. Due to her position as a goalkeeper, it can be quite isolating at times and her position is often the first to get the blame, which can be challenging to navigate. Therefore, she has learned how to find strength in her own abilities, to rise above judgement and to continue believing in herself and her strengths. These lessons translate to her daily life at Redlands well and she continues to remain committed in all aspects of her Yr 12 experience.

She has some exciting opportunities on the horizon and we very much look forward to supporting her through her future achievements!

Giving Day – Wednesday 21 August

On Wednesday 21 August we are excited to launch our major philanthropic campaign, Giving Day. Our Giving Day campaign supports the High Country Campus expansion and establishes another important means-tested scholarship in honour of Redlander Coralie Amos OAM.

Giving Day promises to be a fantastic day of celebration that will have a transformational impact for our students. I look forward to connecting with members of our community on the day where we have 24 hours to reach our giving target of $400,000. Thanks to the incredible support of our matching gift donors, every donation on this day will be tripled, increasing the impact of everyone’s contributions significantly.

For more information about our Giving Day and how you can get involved, please visit the Foundation section.
