Senior Music Festival
The Kaleidoscope-themed Senior Music Festival was a celebration of colours, sounds, instruments and student talents showcased last Friday evening at The Concourse. Students from Yrs 7-12 were able to showcase their progress throughout this school year and, for many, this was a culmination of years of experience, practice, hard work and love for their instrument.
Music Captains introduced each act, Yr 12 Music students linked each performance with a musical segway and many highlighted their immense skill in a particular musical number. Jocelyn Wang, featuring on piano, along with the Symphony Orchestra performed Rhapsody in Blue, Sholto Mirrlees-Black shared his Composition Premiere along with the Senior Chamber Ensemble with his piece Iridi, Ahnu Guan and her sister Ina Guan together played the piano to Waltz of the Flowers, Halcyon Hunt took to stage along with Oliver Cooke, Lily Wainberg and the Intermediate Stage Band singing Dancing in the Moonlight and all Year 12 Music students waltzed across the stage in the final performance of the evening to Green Light Medley. Well done to all students involved in making the event a night to remember and a true celebration of many years of hard work. Thank you to Mr Mathew Owen and the entire Music Department for putting together an incredible evening.

Giving Back
On the morning of the final day of Term 2, all Year 12 students will engage via the Year 12 “Give Back” Service program. Promoting our Values of empathy, compassion and kindness, students will participate in a range of activities, giving back and giving thanks to the Redlands and local Cremorne communities. More detailed information on the service options has been shared with students and they have put through their preference of service activity in preparation for Friday’s event.
Students will hear from key staff and executive about the meaning of Service and how important this day is for them to experience giving back to others wholeheartedly and selflessly, to recognise their contribution to the Redlands community and to appreciate the time and attention others have given to them throughout their years at Redlands.
Please note that most service activities are on campus. However, if students choose the community rubbish clean-up option or the Neutral Bay Community Centre option, these will require students to leave campus for their activity with a Redlands staff member. If there are any concerns regarding your child engaging in these two options in particular, please respond by email to aynson@redlands.nsw.edu.au.

Term Break Message
Wishing everyone a restful, productive, restorative and re-energising term break. For students, this is a chance for them to engage in non-term time study and consolidation. Students should have access to all study materials through iLearn. If they are needing anything further, they have been encouraged to reach out to their teachers prior to break to ensure they have a clear plan for these next three weeks and for their first two weeks in Term 3 leading into Trials.
Thank you to all parents, carers and students for their ongoing communication and support.
