Thank you to all parents, carers and students for an unbelievable start to this year. Students have kept the momentum going, maintaining strong energy in the classroom, positive support for one another and significant dedication in the Study Centre with up to 80 students present in this last week of term!
While Yr 12 is encouraged to maintain structure, revise and prepare for an intense Term 2 ahead, this needs to be balanced with flexibility, exercise, sleep, space, friends and family.
Wishing all families a fantastic two week break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 30 April.

Term Break Study Options and Advice
Over this last week, both IB and HSC Core Sessions have focused on study plans for the upcoming break. It is advised for all Yr 12 students to plan their break with structured study time, exercise, family time and rest. Planning to follow the school schedule from home is a beneficial way to begin this study structure and ensuring there is a clear delineation between structured and unstructured time each day is essential to remaining focused, motivated and prepared for the upcoming Term 2.

University and Careers Update
Continue to encourage your teen to make an appointment with our University and Careers Advisors who are scheduling back-to-back meetings with students to organise their Yr 12 Career Plan. This plan can include a wide range of paths after graduation and students are encouraged to engage with this plan and use it as a working document to best support them.
Also, regularly check the University and Careers Page in Pulse. A news article with up-to-date information will be posted weekly.
Artist of the Moment: Emilie Leroux
This month, Emilie Leroux was acknowledged by the Art Department and Arts Captains for her exceptional artwork and her contribution to the Arts community at Redlands. Oftentimes, you can find Emilie on Level 1 of the Redlands Learning Hub either at lunch or after school completing a project, engaging with an art piece or working with her peers and teachers. Emilie was asked a few questions to highlight her relationship with Art:
Why do you love art?
I’ve always done it. I wasn’t great at the start but it was something I did as I was learning English and then it grew on me.
What was your first experience with art?
I borrowed a book from the library on how to draw while I was waiting around for something in primary school. Then I started drawing step by step, following the instructions in the book.
What artwork are you most proud of?
The Wolf I created for my brother. It’s usually in his room and we had to borrow it for this display. He goes to a martial arts dojo and it’s called the White Wolf Dojo. I’m pretty proud of this piece.
Where do you hope to be with your art in the future?
I don’t really know. I just know that I want to keep doing it at least a little bit no matter what I decide to do later on.

Student Congratulations
Congratulations to Isaac Brooks. He went to Adelaide this week to compete in the Australian Track & Field Championships on 11-12 April.
Congratulations to Xander Halfen as he is on the Gold Coast this week competing in the Nationals Swimming Championships.
Congratulations to the four Yr 12 students who competed in the Australian Linguistics and Computational Olympiad (OzCLO) Competition last month. This group of students prepared over a few months and worked tirelessly for two hours on competition day. Well done to Krishan Price, Ahnu Guan, Sholto Mirrlees-Black and Johnny Wang for earning Gold in Round 1 of the Competition.
Year 12 in Pyjamas
What a day for the cohort to rug up, keep on their plush slippers, grab their robes and enjoy a day of studying and celebrating their Term 1 Effort – PJ style with a pizza lunch!
