Yr 12 Breakfast
Last Friday, Yr 12 were able to spend time together with one another, enjoy breakfast, mingle and then receive some inspirational messages from Mrs Van de Peer, Mr Taylor and Mrs Benjamin, along with key information for their programs of study.
A few key messages for the 2024 cohort included:
- Be proud of how you started, strong with determination
- Lean into pressure, it can feel uncomfortable but you grow so much from embracing these feelings
- High effort is linked to achievement of personal excellence
- Accept continual challenge – you will receive specific feedback, data on your progress as a student, Records of Academic Discussions (RADs) and parent support and communication
- You need to find your flow – if you don’t find flow, you need to ask for help and lean into help and supports around you
- Know what to prioritise
- Plan and commit to your study timetables – having one is great but continue to modify and use it
- Create your own Study Bubbles, especially during non-term time – bring together those you work well with, choose a location to meet and support one another
- Learn from listening to others and from inquiring, questioning and teaching others
The Power Point Presentation from the day is linked here.
International Women’s Day Breakfast Charity Event
On Monday 11 March from 7am – 9am, Redlands is hosting an International Women’s Day Breakfast charity event. All members of the community are encouraged to attend by purchasing a ticket and bringing along someone who inspires and invests time in them. See the advertisement below and click on the link to purchase a ticket.
Legacy Gift Team Morning Tea
Last Friday also kickstarted the planning for the 2024 Legacy Gift team with a morning tea and information session along with planning time for students who have expressed interest in being involved in this special opportunity. The Legacy Gift team will be leading the planning, organising and fundraising contributing to a means-tested scholarship and another gift of their choice that they find meaningful to them and the School. This gift is a way for students to give back to the Redlands community and to support opportunities for future Redlands students. Thank you to the students who have put their hand up to lead the planning and to be the representatives for their peers in this process. Thank you to the Canteen staff, Property Services and the Foundation team for coordinating efforts for this event and a special thank you to Dana Casimaty, Director of Development, who continues to work with the student team throughout this process.
