Year 12

Article: Managing Yr 12: 5 Tips For Managing The Burden of Expectation.

With many HSC and IB students receiving results from the Half Yearly Assessments, along with feedback from teachers, and more assessment deadlines, now is a timely reminder to remind Yr 12 that sometimes, the expectations that they are placing on themselves, are too high, and that it’s ok, to take a moment to pause, reflect and be content, that what they are doing is enough, and that Yr 12 is an important year, but at the same time, such a small piece of a much bigger picture in their life.
Student, Katelyn Smith completed her QCE studies in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.40, and now studies a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at UQ.

In the following article, find Katelyn’s 5 top tips for managing Yr 12 which include:

Tip #1 Practise self-compassion

Tip #2 Foster a resilient mindset
Tip #3 Reduce stress
Tip #4 Learn for the sake of learning
Tip #5 Don’t let school devour your life
