Year 11
Holiday Break
Mr Walker and I would like to extend our best wishes to Yr 11 students and families for a well-deserved end of semester break. It has been, without doubt, a most unusual term and we commend students for the resilience and responsibility that they have shown, particularly during the remote learning period. Students are certainly ready for some much needed R&R after such a busy term. We hope the three week break will allow students time to re-energise and spend time with family and friends. It is hoped that students will find time to consolidate the term’s learning through study and creating summary notes. Yr 12 Leadership Opportunities
It was with much excitement that Mr Corcoran addressed our Yr 11 cohort to discuss the new leadership initiative for 2020-2021. The School regularly evaluates the opportunities for students and in response to recent feedback, as well as best practice, changes have been made to our Yr 12 leadership model. Students can refer to the Leadership manual which is available on our iLearn Pastoral page for further information. I am thrilled that students will have the opportunity to opt in for leadership next year and I encourage all students to embrace this new opportunity.
Yr 12 Jerseys
Thank you for your patience regarding the correspondence for Yr 12 jerseys. Unfortunately, there were technical issues with attaching the PDF to my initial correspondence. Hopefully, everyone is able to navigate the ordering process through Flexischools by selecting the “Accessories”. Should you experience any problems, please do not hesitate to be in touch with uniformshop@redlands.nsw.edu.au.
Redlands Next Gen Art Exhibition
This weekend marks the very first Redlands Next Gen Art initiative, held at the Dominik Mersch Gallery, Rushcutters Bay.
This special exhibition offers Redlands students past and present the unique opportunity to showcase their works in one of Sydney’s leading contemporary art galleries. Students from Yr 11 and 12 as well as 2019 graduates, were asked to submit works to be exhibited. The selection committee was inundated with inspiring, highly creative applications and, after great consideration, chose 17 finalists for the exhibition.
We warmly congratulate Nina Casey-Brown, Indiana Grace, Sophia Hill and Aaliya Naqvi on their selection for this inaugural event.
The Opening Night tomorrow is now sold out, however the exhibition can be viewed over the weekend:
Dominik Mersch Gallery, 75 McLachlan Ave, Ruschtters Bay
Saturday: 12pm-5pm
Sunday: 12pm-4pm
