Year 11
Welcome Back
It was wonderful to connect with some of our Yr 11 students online on Tuesday for the commencement of Term 2. Like our students, I welcomed the interaction and connection after a much quieter holiday than usual. I had the opportunity to help some students in 11Roseby Red reflect on their Approaches to learning grades. These conversations are vitally important and allows students to take a lens to their approach to study and learning. The process helps them to identify areas for further improvement and to recognise their strengths and celebrate their achievements. This week, during Tutor Time our students are finalising their Legacy Vlog projects and Mr Walker and I enjoyed viewing 11DB’s contribution, expertly edited by Harrison Winton. I am looking forward to the term ahead and particularly seeing students face to face and “in the flesh” on Monday 11 May, after such a long time. I hope you are all well and I look forward to continuing to support our Yr 11 students during Term 2.
Virtual Mother’s Day Classic 2020
The Mother’s Day Classic is an annual fun run and walk raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The aim of the Mother’s Day Classic is to deliver a fun, healthy and inspirational community event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. Have fun, get active and help us raise funds online for vital breast cancer research.
The Redlands community has taken part in the Mother’s Day Classic for many years and we don’t want this year to be any different. We’re calling on students and family members, staff and alumni to sign up and support this wonderful event as it goes virtual.
We challenge participants to walk or run 4km or 8km – anytime, anywhere, in your living room, at the local park or even in your backyard – on or before Mother’s Day (Sunday 10 May) and be a part of something big.
Join the Redlands MDC20 Team and show your support for our community!
