Year 11
Yr 11 Camp
Well done to all students on camp. We battled all types of weather throughout the week and Ms Wilson and I were so impressed with all their efforts. The final dinner was simply magical and the hard work put into organising it made even more special. It is never easy venturing outside your comfort zone and I know a lot of students on camp were certainly pushed to their limits, but it was so pleasing to see that they were able to come out the other side with a smile on their face.
Student Achievements
Aanicka Grant recently competed at the NSW/ACT State Show Jumping Championships. In gale force winds she qualified for the Junior Final, jumping 1.30 metres – only her second time jumping at this height. Unfortunately, she had a few unlucky rails on a very difficult course and didn’t place, but rode beautifully and finished with a huge smile.
Kodi Tupper recently competed at the Australian Dressage Championships in the international CDI-Y classes for riders aged 16-21 years riding at Prix St George level. They came 8th in the CDI-Y Championship and 7th in the CDI-Y Freestyle in a field of Australia’s top young riders. Kodi and her new horse, Duke, only started competing at this level in August so it was a great experience for them.
Service Trip
Jacqui Holth (Aymon’s mother) is heading to Nepal again and is asking for donations of old (clean) laptops and binoculars. The binoculars are for upcoming nature guides and conservationists. It’s an essential tool for them and very expensive for them to access. If you would like to donate, please bring them to the SSO or contact Jacqui directly on jacquiholth@icloud.com.
