Year 11
Musical – Strictly Ballroom
Wow, wow, wow! Ms Wilson and I attended opening night last Thursday evening and were blown away by the glitz and glamour of Strictly Ballroom. With so much hairspray and glitter it was a fantastic spectacle. From those students who helped behind the scenes with make-up and production, to those in the band providing the beautiful music, and to those on stage who showcased their inner Aussie dancer, we were treated to something wonderful. Thank you to all the parents involved for all your efforts behind the scenes helping with costumes, set design and much more.
Congratulations to all the Yr 11 students involved – Aidan Allen, Tasman Banks, Lauren Burke, Matisse Coletran, Lara Dempsey, Cara Eccleston, Greta Feldmann, Sophie Gautheron, Leilani Heath, Flynn Henry, Yuanqui He, Jasmine Hill, Aymon Holth, Madeleine Howard, Poppy Krueger, Aleisha Lawrence, Apsara Lindeman, Isabella Nicoletti, Saskia Northam, Faith Oosthuizen, Tobias Page, Charlie Payne, Noah Pincini, Frank Reid, Miranda Renwick, Inez Smith, Vivienne Spicer, Domenica Stuart, Aysha Swanson, Alannah Walton, Laura Whelan, Thomas Wightwick, Ashlee Wilks, Yuma Yasumura and Danielle Youie
Rowing – National Championships
Congratulations to Alexander Coney, Max Durrant, Madeleine Howard and Mitchell Simpson who competed at the National Championships last week out at SIRC, Penrith. There were some great results from a number of crews across the week.
Mock Trial
Congratulations to Emily Colvin, Leilani Heath, Madeleine Howard, Stephanie Larcos, Aleisha Lawrence and Renata Ferreira who had our first win in Round 1 last Monday beating Queenwood. Next up is Round 2 in the first week of Term 2 and we are against the school that won the NSW Law Society Grand Final last year, Riverview! Any support would be great for our team.
Nepal Trip
Aymon Holth and Laura Whelan, along with ten teenagers from around Australia and the UK, are heading to Nepal in the upcoming school holidays on a youth summit. They will be trekking to 4500 metres in the Himalayas as well as spending a week helping to physically participate in the building expansion of a school in Bardia in Western Nepal. In the school there are currently only four computers and 550 students. We are seeking donations of any working laptops and/or small easily transportable desktops (such as Mac minis). They can be either Apple or Windows PC computers. They need to be operational and cleaned of any data, with the appropriate power source. If you have a spare computer that you are able to donate, please bring it to school and leave with Mr Atkins, Aymon Holth or Laura Whelan. They are also seeking donations of reading glasses. If you would like to read more about the project, click here. If it is easier for collection, please contact Jacqui Holth, Aymon’s mother, on 0428 201 800 or email jacqui@adventurouslifeproject.life. She is also going to Nepal.
