NSW Snowsports Championships

Last week, a group of our talented students represented Redlands with pride at the NSW Snowsports Championships. The event was an incredible opportunity for students to showcase their skills and passion for winter sports while competing against some of the best young athletes from across the state. Congratulations to Aibe Elsworth, Nora Moncau-Munio, Cameron Simpson, Max Byron, Georgina Williams, Daisy Williams, Jemima Hugman and Sela Tea for their outstanding efforts and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

We are particularly excited to announce that the following students have qualified for the National Championships next week: Aibe Elsworth, Nora Moncau-Munio, Cameron Simpson, Georgina Williams and Daisy Williams. This is a significant achievement, and we wish them all the best as they take on this next level of competition.

Yr 12 Legacy Gift Fundraiser – Non-School Dress Day Friday 30 August

To celebrate our time at Redlands, and to thank the School for its support, encouragement and opportunities that are offered to us, we have decided to support the means-tested Coralie Amos AM Scholarship Appeal. This scholarship provides an opportunity for a Redlands education to a student who may otherwise be unable to attend the School.

The Aim for this day is to raise money and to reflect on our experiences that we have been so fortunate to have at Redlands. As such we would love to be able to support a student so that they will be able to attend Redlands as well.

Fundraising will be conducted through a Non-school dress day this Friday 30 August with a gold coin donation at the gates in the morning.

Non-dress Day Theme: Favourite part of Redlands – showcase somewhere that you shine! You can wear a Sport jersey, club t-shirt, drama outfit or your house colours to celebrate why you love Redlands.

Yr 12 will be selling water bottles and keychains at Lunch in the Fahl Garden and Liggins Quad as well as asking students to share why they love Redlands. All proceeds will be going to the scholarship fund.

Thank you for joining the 2024 Cohort in their efforts. Thank you for your support.

Preliminary Exams

As you approach your upcoming Preliminary Exams, it’s essential to reflect on the sustained effort and commitment that has brought you to this point. These exams are not just an assessment of content; they represent a crucial opportunity to refine your skills, enhance your study techniques and identify strategies that will set you up for success in Year 12. Your results are just one part of a much broader journey—what truly matters is how you use this experience to grow and develop as a learner. Approach the exams with confidence, knowing that your preparation and resilience will guide you through. This is your chance to consolidate all you’ve learned and build a strong foundation for the year ahead.

Key information and reminders:

  • Arrival time (15 mins prior)
  • Exams will be held on Level 4 of the Learning Hub
  • You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of each exam
  • You are only required at school for your exams; you should only come into school just before an exam and leave immediately after. If you have two exams on the same day, you can go to the library between them
  • You are not permitted to study on Levels 2 or 3 of the Learning Hub at any time – noise travels up to Level 4 and disrupts exams
  • No phones or smart watches in exam rooms
  • Pencil cases and water bottles must be clear, or they will not be allowed in
  • No sport uniform
  • Exams are not a reason not to attend other commitments such as sport – you are expected to continue with these activities that take place before and after school
  • If you are running late, the exam will start without you. If you are going to be late, you must email Mrs Benjamin/ Mr Taylor, Ms Vale and the absence email to alert the School
  • If you cannot take an exam, you must contact Mrs Benjamin/ Mr Taylor, Ms Vale and the absence email as early as possible on the day of the exam. You must then follow the illness and misadventure procedure on the day of the exam affected and attach a medical certificate that clearly states why you could not complete an exam (‘unfit for school or study’ won’t cut it). Without this, you will receive 0 for each exam missed. This process is not optional.
  • You cannot apply for illness and misadventure on the day or days after an exam that you have missed. It has to be on the day.
  • If you attempt an exam whilst unwell, and you feel your performance has been impacted, you should follow the same procedure: I&M form and medical certificate.
  • All exams missed will be rescheduled within the exam block.
