End of Term 3
As we bid adieu to all of our Yr 12 students this week, there was a subtle yet evident buzz among the Yr 11 students… I can’t believe this will be us in one year… how did we get to be Yr 12… can you believe it?
This cohort is ready for this next step. So ready in fact, they already invaded the Yr 12 Top Garden at Lunch with huge smiles and a timid yet enthusiastic entrance. While some want this time to slow down, others are in full gear to take this last year of Secondary School head on.
Thank you for all of your continued support throughout this term. Congratulations to you and your children for completing their Yr 11 Examination Block and their various Yr 11 requirements.
We do hope you rest and enjoy a very well-deserved break. We look forward to seeing all students at 6:30am on Monday 9 October in the Undercroft on the Senior Campus before heading out to camp.
Term 4 Uniform Reminders
With the Class of 2024 now as senior leaders, we remind all students that they set a precedent for themselves, their cohort and all of the years below them. We are requesting for students to plan ahead, organise haircuts or purchase any uniform items needed, to ensure they can return to school in Term 4 with the following:
- No earrings other than a silver or gold stud or small sleeper
- A clean haircut or hair style that shows the student’s face. If hair is long enough, it needs to be tied back. If hair is short, it needs to be a conservative cut that does not resemble a mullet. Otherwise, students will be asked to change their hairstyle before returning to classes.
- Summer dress hems at the knee
- Uniform items in good condition that fit appropriately
- Appropriate black leather school shoes
- No necklaces, bracelets or rings
The items listed above are part of the school uniform requirement and uniform demerits will be given out immediately upon return to school.
Industry Day
Today is Industry Day! All Yr 11 students are spread across Sydney at eleven different industries, working with professionals in various fields to be exposed to life beyond Redlands and what happens in the real world.
Thank you to our two incredible Careers Advisors at Redlands, Justine Fowler and Claire Hurst, as well as our Careers and University Administration Assistant, Cressida Rigney, for their incredible efforts in organising the industries on offer for today. These industries have prepared special programs, catering details and engaging sessions for our students to have a truly memorable experience.
Yr 11 Camp Update
Thank you to all parents and carers who have completed EdSmart and Operoo information. We still have a few forms to be completed. Thank you for ensuring this is done by Friday 21 September. See details on Pulse.
