Year 11

Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4, which will be our last Term 4 together!

As you will be aware, this week and for the first two days of next week, Yr 11 are on an examination block, remotely. It appears to be going smoothly from our end and I hope there hasn’t been too many dramas from your end. The exciting news will be the return to campus for Yr 11 and I’m sure they are looking forward to that as much as I am!

As I mentioned at the end of last term, Jess Howard has taken parental leave, and I am happy to announce that Richard Millham will be taking up the role of Yr 11 Assistant Year Advisor in her absence. Richard has been the Tutor of Roseby Red since the students were in Yr 9 and has also taught most of the Year Group in his time at Redlands. I’m sure that his Tutor Group will miss him terribly but he will remain a pivotal role for the remainder of their schooling at Redlands. His replacement for Roseby Red Tutor is Mathew Owen, and we are excited to have him on board with our Pastoral team. Mathew is a passionate and excellent Music teacher and shares many of the interests and important causes that Roseby Red care about, so we are confident that he will fit into the group very smoothly. We will be introducing Mathew to the group next week, and Richard will continue to remain actively involved with them until we return on campus, to help transition the change of Tutors smoothly.

Athletics Carnival

Due to Remote Learning, we were unable to present the Athletics Awards for the School Carnival that happened at the end of Term 2, so I would like to recognise those amazing athletes in Yr 11 who achieved great results:

U17 Girls Champion: Olivia Vigneault, Runner Ups: Olivia Stonley and Evie Farrell

U17 Boys Champion: Ben Adamson, Runner Up: Max Rawlinson

U16 Girls Runner Up: Lauren Smith

A fantastic effort too, for both Ashani Gupta and Olivia Vigneault who participated in all 5 track events!

Mullets for Mental Health

Congratulations to all Yr 11s who participated in, and donated to, ‘Mullets for Mental Health’ in September. The boys involved managed to raise an incredible $4,639! There will be some much needed haircuts coming up in the next couple of weeks when hairdressers open up, in time for the boys (and Mr Millham) to return to campus.

Have a great week!
